Telepathy: Its Theory, Facts, and Proof is William Walker Atkinson’s compact 1910 study of thought-transference, psychic communication, and the experimental evidence then being gathered around the phenomenon of telepathy.
Physical edition: The Holographic Pagan Press edition is a handmade softcover book, not a hardcover.
Atkinson begins by defining telepathy and the problem it presents to conventional theories of mind, then surveys laboratory and parlor experiments, English psychical-research investigations, and the celebrated Weltmer experiments. Throughout, he considers competing explanations for how impressions might pass from one mind to another beyond the ordinary channels of sense.
Characteristic of Atkinson’s early New Thought and occult-psychology writing, the book occupies the borderland between practical mental science, psychical research, personal magnetism, and the developing language of vibration, ether, and thought-force. It remains an especially useful companion to his works on practical mind reading, mental influence, concentration, and personal magnetism.
This text has been prepared by Odd Enough Books / Holographic Pagan Press as part of an ongoing effort to recover and circulate overlooked works from the history of metaphysical and esoteric thought.
This is a handmade 8.5" × 11" Holographic Pagan Press edition, produced with a forest-green cardstock cover, burgundy tape-bound spine, and newly prepared cover artwork drawing on nineteenth-century magnetic-field and psychical-research imagery.
Issued here as a first Holographic Pagan Press edition.
