Marvels of Magnetism and Methods Old and New is L. H. Anderson’s richly illustrated 1896 guide to personal magnetism, mesmerism, suggestion, magnetic healing, influence, and self-mastery.

Anderson brings older traditions of animal magnetism into conversation with late nineteenth-century theories of psychology and mental suggestion. The text considers confidence, focused will, controlled speech and demeanor, healing practices, social influence, and the deliberate cultivation of personal presence.

Period diagrams and engravings give the work much of its character, presenting magnetism as both a practical discipline and a visual system of instruction. Its extensive illustration makes it one of Anderson’s most distinctive publications.

This Holographic Pagan Press edition has been newly restored and prepared for modern readers. The unusual illustrations and period cover design have been preserved in a substantial 303-page handmade black cloth tape-bound 8.5 × 11-inch format.
