Spirit Slate Writing and Kindred Phenomena is William E. Robinson’s illustrated exposé of slate-writing mediums, séance effects, mind-reading demonstrations, spirit rapping, table lifting, restraints, handcuff tests, and related feats associated with nineteenth-century spiritualism and stage magic.

Robinson—an experienced professional magician and former assistant to Herrmann—sets out the practical methods used to produce apparently supernatural manifestations. Across nine chapters and sixty-six illustrations, he explains single- and double-slate methods, concealed writing, chemical techniques, mechanical devices, séance apparatus, rope and handcuff escapes, and numerous forms of fraudulent mediumship.

This Holographic Pagan Press edition has been newly restored and prepared for modern readers. Its period cover has been reconstructed in black and flat antique-gold tones on textured red card stock and presented in a handmade black tape-bound format.

Each physical copy is printed, assembled, and finished by hand.
