Manly P. Hall’s Manuscript Series

This edition presents Psychology, True and False by Manly P. Hall, originally issued in 1924 as Number Forty of his early Manuscript Series.

In this work, Hall distinguishes genuine self-knowledge from psychological theories, habits, and interpretations that may only reinforce confusion or self-deception. He considers the study of the mind valuable only when it contributes to greater clarity, personal responsibility, and the development of character.

Hall approaches psychology through the practical and philosophical framework that characterizes much of his early teaching. Rather than reducing the individual to a collection of impulses, symptoms, or intellectual classifications, he emphasizes honest self-observation, emotional balance, disciplined thought, and the integration of mental insight into everyday conduct.

The text challenges the reader to examine not only what the mind believes, but also the motives, fears, habits, and assumptions operating beneath conscious thought. True psychology, in Hall’s presentation, becomes a means of bringing the inner life into greater order rather than simply accumulating theories about human behavior.

Prepared by Odd Enough Books / Holographic Pagan Press as part of an ongoing effort to recover and circulate overlooked works from the history of esoteric philosophy, metaphysics, psychology, and spiritual development.

This is a handmade 8.5" × 11" physical book, assembled with staples and binding tape, featuring new cover artwork and layout by C.K. Lee.

Issued here as a first Holographic Pagan Press edition.
