Nature’s Finer Forces is Râma Prasâd’s influential 1894 study of the Tattvas—the subtle forces and elemental principles understood to underlie nature, consciousness, breath, and human experience.

Drawing upon Sanskrit philosophical and yogic traditions, Prasâd examines the five Tattvas and their relationship to Prâna, respiration, cycles of nature, the senses, and the physical and subtle constitution of the human being. The work became an important point of transmission between Indian esoteric philosophy, Theosophy, and the developing Western occult literature of the late nineteenth century.

For students of Theosophy, yoga, breath, subtle-energy theory, occult philosophy, and the historical development of Western metaphysical thought, Nature’s Finer Forces remains an unusual and significant primary text.
