Collection: Wallace D. Wattles

Wallace D. Wattles belongs to the practical New Thought world of the early twentieth century. His compact body of work joins metaphysical ideas about mind and universal law to prosperity, health, character, purposeful action, and what he called the creative rather than competitive way of living.

His best-known books appeared in a concentrated burst: What Is Truth? in 1909, followed in 1910 by The Science of Getting Rich, The Science of Being Well, and The Science of Being Great. Read together, they reveal a broader philosophy than the prosperity title alone suggests.

Where to Begin

Begin with The Science of Getting Rich for Wattles’s most concise statement of creative action and prosperity. Continue with The Science of Being Great for character and self-command, then The Science of Being Well as a historical example of New Thought health teaching. What Is Truth? supplies the philosophical background beneath the later trilogy.
